Baccarat

Baccarat is game that is also known as Punto Banco; it is a game of chance where the player’s moves are determined by the cards dealt. In this game, a player can have only one of three outcomes: Bank, Player and Tie. These outcomes do not refer to the player or the dealer, but simply to different bets that may be wagered. The playing area for the game of Baccarat usually has three dealers and around 12 or 14 players. In this game, all face cards and 10s have no value and the aces are worth 1, while the other cards are counted at face value. In the game of Baccarat, the suits are irrelevant.

Traditional and Progressive Baccarat

The fundamentals of traditional Baccarat and Progressive Baccarat are almost the same, barring the fact that the progressive version of the game allows the players to play progressive jackpots with big prizes. Most gamers across the world would agree that Progressive Baccarat is one of the best casino games where the house does not enjoy an advantage over the player. Statistically and mathematically, the Progressive Baccarat system table is designed such that on an average the wins are split between the banker (45.86%) and the player (44.62%), the remaining 9.52% is usually a tie enhancing the odds of winning in favor of the players.

How to Play Baccarat

Baccarat is fairly easy to play and those new to the game will be able to move into real play as soon as they understand the few rules of the game and learn some Baccarat tips. The objective of this game of sheer chance is to have a hand of nine points or to get one as close to it by following a certain system.

The game begins when two cards each are dealt to the player and the banker and the value of both cards are totaled to determine who the winner is of the two. If the total for a particular player reaches a double digit, then it is only the single digit that is taken into consideration. The goal is to get a total of either 8 or 9.

If either of the two (the player and the banker) achieves a ‘natural’ (total of 8 or 9) then no more cards will be drawn. If this does not happen, the players will continue on with the game proceeding to draw more cards. The next move in the game is governed by the cards dealt, and this follows some Baccarat rules.

The player’s game depends completely on the player’s initial hand. For instance, if the player had a total that valued in at a score from 0 to 5, then he would be allowed to draw, otherwise he would be advised to stands.

For the banker, the next move would depend on three factors, namely the banker’s initial hand, whether the player drew a card and in that case what card was drawn by the player. After this, the cards are then re-totaled and the winner is then announced according to the total value of the cards that each holds.
