Keno Rules

Keno is a lottery game where the player marks a set of 80 numbers which then must match the choice by a random ball draw. The game has evolved from an ancient Chinese game, which was then brought to the West in the 19th Century. The game of keno is now a popular choice in online casinos and gambling halls, although the offline version of the game is also still popular. There are a number of variations in the game depending on the kind of ticket used as well as the method used to pick the random numbers.

How to Play the Game

In order to play the game, the player begins by purchasing a ticket from the online casino or gambling hall of their choice. Tickets are generally available in a range of different prices depending on where the player is playing. Each ticket is marked with numbers from 1 to 80, within little boxes that are called spots. Until the ticket is purchased, the player cannot place a bet on the keno game at hand.
Once the player has purchased the ticket, he/she proceeds to choose numbers on the ticket. The player chooses up to 15 numbers out of the 80. These numbers can be chosen in any possible order, with each of the numbers having an equal chance of winning. In the online version of the game, the player simply clicks on the spot that they have choose, and all marked spots change colours so that the player has track of the numbers that have been chosen. Since the online game is not a multi-player game, it will not begin until the player has marked either exactly 15 or under 15 numbers on the card.
Once the player places the bet, the game begins. Numbers are drawn at random from 1 to 80. Depending on the bet that the player places and the kinds of bets on offer in the keno game, the player is rewarded with a payout if he/she holds a winning ticket.

The payout in a typical keno game depends on the number of choices that the player guessed correctly. This is called a “hit”. Each time the player gets a hit, the player’s payout automatically increases. Each paytable has a basic rate, and the number of hits is multiplied by the basic rate, which is subsequently multiplied by the player’s initial wager. Depending on the number of hits scored therefore, the player will have a chance to win a lot of money.

Keno Rules clarified

There are some basic rules of the game of Keno, no matter what version the player chooses to play. The most important thing to remember of course is that the game of keno allows players to choose only a specific number of spots off the list of 80.
In the offline version of the game, once the player makes the markings, the ticket is then returned to the source and verified against the draw. In the online game, all this is done automatically. Once the player has made the markings, it is not possible to change them.
